HCI Alternatives began with an ambitious idea to evolve the cannabis dispensary model. Great atmosphere, warm inviting smiles, the staff is very educated and able to make great suggestions based on your medical needs. They not only have the largest variety of selection, but great affordable prices too. I’ve been to a few other dispensaries in Illinois. If you have not made the trip out to springfield to try this yet, it is well worth the drive. You will not be disappointed.
It would’ve been nice to see a warning of some kind about being closed today. Drove all the way from Jacksonville to find we couldn’t even get within a 2 block radius of HCI and they were closed.
Hands down the best around the staff is super friendly it’s always clean and everyone is so helpful they also have a great selection
The Layout is a bit confusing but once you get past that the staff are all wonderful. Its a bright and warm atmosphere. It’s really setup well to keep you coming back.

She really helped me feel comfortable through each step of the process. I think it’s really nice to walk in and so organized place is very clean, the staff was so knowledge of the product they were selling. very polite and really care about your needs as a patient. The variety of products to choose from and if they do not have you place a order. I’m pleased to have this dispensary for my needs and encourage people to look into.

This is my first experience like this. My
ailments have been hard to treat with pharmaceutical drugs.. A long journey to find something as natural as this and I must say that it has been a great one with this staff of good people! Beautiful customer service attitude, a homely feeling like going to your local grocery store. Pat, Alex, Em, Emma,Kelly and anyone else I may have forgotten you all are so nice and great at what you do.May God bless you all keep up the great work.

Staff compassionate friendly and non-judgemental
This location needs more specials and give a ways. I hear other dispensaries have Shelby County compassionate programs for people with cancer. I ask about this today. They are suppose to find out.

Always nice clean comfortable atmosphere. The people are friendly and knowledgeable. I enjoy this dispensary they always have k-cups and snacks in the lobby. It does take a few minutes but that happens everywhere. It has never took any unpleasant amout of time im in and out in 10 min at the longest with or without express.

How can I make an educated purchase if there’s no strain information or amount of THC and CBD? They have been telling me for 2 years that they are fixing it. Why even have express ordering if no one there 2 tell you anything about the product that you’ve funded on the backs of the sick and poor!! Girl on phone rude. Won’t be back!!
This is the only dispensary I’ve been to, but I’m really pleased. It’s clean (the bathrooms are spotless) and has a very nice, spacious waiting area with water, a keureg machine, free wifi and snacks. The staff are wonderful, they know your name, are knowledgeable about their products and how to use them for the inexperienced. I’ve never felt unwelcome and they’ve been awesome about ordering products that most people don’t use but are more medically specialized. The prices are what they are but I don’t think they’re unreasonable because of the service you receive. The parking downtown sucks, though. Only two handicapped spaces by the store and the regular spaces are hard to find on busy days (when the capital is in session or something’s going on downtown). I usually plan the visits for early afternoon or right at opening. All in all I’m very pleased with the place.

This HCI location is one of two & has less business so less inventory. Illinois has only a few growers so medicine is the same statewide & having a big inventory is key to keeping patients like me happy. i DON’T recommend!
Have been coming here for almost 4 months now. EVERY member of the staff is so warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and inviting. They learn your name, your likes and dislikes. No matter how bad my day had been, I have NEVER walked out of there without a smile on my face. I always look forward to my visits to HCI ALTERNATIVES. (NOT only for what I walk out with in the little green bag)

Great place. No questions are stupid for the newby. Very friendly. Being as nervous as I was. they put you at ease. Had no problems. They treat you wonderfull, and exceeded my expectations. i will not go anywhere else.
I love this place for the most part. Great service great staff but the prices are ridiculous for being open for 2 years now. Edibles are too pricey and not strong. They want you to buy the lowest amounts paying ridiculous prices. If you want bigger amounts they have it but shake. Like anyone wants shake. Dont pee on me and tell me it’s raining. You guys need better vendors or ones less greedy. This is why big business needs to stay away from cannabis. It’s all greed no smart business people anymore.

Convenient, friendly service
Online menu is rarely accurate, and prices are currently going up while selection goes down.
Staff are hit or miss. Some are really exceptional, some have minimal product knowledge at best, and one is a rude little boy.
After about 20 very local trips to HCI, I started visiting other regional dispensaries, and am glad I did. I’ve saved a ton of money (even driving many more miles) and had access to items I could not purchase at HCI.

I was 14th in line today, receptionist forgot to write my name on the list, so people who were behind me were going in before me. It’s so rude, this woman who was right behind me went and stood by the door where they take you in, so I walked up and stood by her, they said who’s next and she went in. I told the gal I was next, so she looked on the list and my name wasn’t there. While I was inside I asked the girl behind the counter who was waiting on me, how much something was and she got huffy with me. I think she was new, cause she didn’t know where things were or what was on sale. Anyways 3 people who were behind me in line were checking out while my basket was being over looked. I know stuff happens but it’s frustrating when people deliberately go in front of you, when it’s your turn.
