Great Northern Cannabis proudly opened their first retail store on August 4, 2017 to help people by educating them on cannabis and building a respected, trusted brand within the marijuana industry. My Partner and I went in once about a month ago after being repeatedly told how great of a shop it is. I’m sure others have had fantastic experiences- but that day we were pretty underwhelmed by the Staff on site and how defensive they were to questions about the business and products. Didn’t find any high CBD strains as mentioned to us, prices were not competitively low and the customer service was fairly lacking. We tried 2 strains, quality was good, but for the price I wouldn’t purchase them again.
Overall I felt like the prices reflected the building the shop is in (which is quite nice and new) verses the actual bud or customer service you assume you are paying for. We had to wait to check out even though for the 20+ minutes of our shopping experience we were the only ones there besides the staff. POS issues, employees didn’t know how to start the POS machine. Just silly mistakes that can add up.
Nice peeps. Anyone who goes Gaga over my pit is good with me but they were friendly and professional easy going shop. Hooked it up with a nice blueberry girl.

Dopest Dope You’ve Ever Smoked
I went here for the first time yesterday and, besides parking, it’s the best shop I’ve been to thus far. Customer service was excellent, as the staff was friendly and professional. Unlike other shops their recommendations felt like such instead of trying to push me to buy products I obviously had no interest in.
To my knowledge they are the only shop in town that prices their weed according to quality instead of charging the same for 18% THC and 10% THC. Add in the aesthetic interior decorating and I see little reason to give my business to the other shoddy shops ever again.
Amazing bud and potent edibles, I got stoned for many hours, best high quality thc for body aches and pain. Great Customer Service, 5/5 A+.
This is the Apple Store of Cannabis. Sleek & chic, privacy, and really cool staff. Great $12 pre-rolls on selected strains @ yes they are good strains. Glad when they get the e-pen.

Wow. This place is incredible. Only my 2nd visit to a shop. Definitely the best shop in Anchorage. So clean and nice inside, great selection (I got yummy cherry pie), and the friendliest staff. Phallon helped me and was so professional and really put me at ease in making the right selection for my needs. She wasn’t pushy at all or made me feel rushed like other places. They also had some beautiful glass pieces in there. I can’t wait to go back. I am super impressed and will be sure to let my friends and family know. Thank you!
I -love- this location. Clean, open atmosphere, always friendly and helpful staff, prime bud at some of the lowest prices. Colorado has some okay bud. Oregon has great options, although some was brought in from California and Washington. Though nothing quite compares to Great Northern, their employees and truly local vendors as a whole.

I’ve come here many times. Phallon is amazing and I always tend to go to her because she’s super friendly. If you come in often they recognize you. Tundra Berry is my favorite strain of theirs right now. Also got my 20% discount the last time so keep checking in. I usually come here first. I don’t mind the location and the place is very clean. I tell all of my friends to try this spot out.
I love their hours, location, and their prices are compareably good. They have a loyalty discount, and usually a good selection of buds and concentrates. They feature their own product and also other growers. The selection just keeps getting better and better. Highly recommend.
