Silver Stem Cannabis proudly joined the Portland cannabis community in May 2015, and are proud to have served their patrons for nearly three years. The founders, cannabis industry professionals, moved back to their hometown of Portland, Oregon to take part in the state’s new recreational industry and help both adult use and medical customers access an excellent marijuana experience. This was my go to suppler for my medical needs. Recently, they have increased their prices. I have found better quality at better prices within walking distance. I will miss their service personnel and their location.
There are bigger dispensaries out there, but few that are as friendly and welcoming. The staff are caring and knowledgeable – I have yet to be steered wrong by a recommendation. And I love the daily sales and specials.
First time going to this place was an amazing experience. C.R.E.A.M. was playing on vinyl when I walked in so that is always a plus. Not the cheapest but the bud they do offer does match the price.
The budtender was super nice and helpful. She introduced me to some new edibles that I just love. I’ll def be back!
Love this shop. I can honestly say I’ve never left disappointed. I have found higher potency strains at another dispensary, but for the price, and the specials, nobody in town does it better. Good people slanging good buds at a great price!

This was my very first experience in a dispensary and I had an absolutely wonderful experience! I didn’t feel rushed or pressured by my bud tender at all, she was so helpful and informative too.
Also, the facility was very nice and I couldn’t believe what an amazing selection they had as well as what good deals they had! Especially considering they take 20% off for all new patients.

This is the Deb’s favorite East Side dispensary. Everyone is helpful and friendly and the emphasis on vinyl is pleasing. I quite enjoyed the Conspiracy Kush. It’s multidimensional. I took off my Spectator Pumps: Life is good.

Was told senior discount was for ages 60 and over, but the website says %20 for 55 and over on Sundays. I believe it’s false advertising. I traveled the extra ten miles to save some money, only to be told that the senior age discount was erroneous.

First time visit, first time giving a full five stars! Discreet but easy location, and awesome deals seemingly all the time, from the looks of it. The woman who helped me was profoundly knowledgeable, scientific even, and turned me onto what I do NOT lightly state is my favorite strain ever: BLUEBERRY KUSH! I got some others as well, upper and top shelf, and all were stunning in quality. Strains you know are in their finest form at this spot, and the ones you don’t are gonna getcha! Since it’s a chain, I imagine they’ll do well at retail, but leave this shop as is! Definitely keep the tall long-haired white gal with glasses; she knows her shit and tells you in an easily understood manner. And get some more blueberry anything! Damn, it’s good.

Okay, the people are really nice here, they gave me a free pipe on my first visit, and the atmosphere is great with a little record player action… but I got some low quality flower here for a top-shelf price… not really sure what happened there as I was expecting more. Guess I’d blame myself for not looking closer at the trim on the buds… but they did enough to deserve another visit and an update of this review.

I took a short drive from Tacoma, WA to visit Portland for a few hours for a UW Alumni special event. I figured what the hell and visited “Silver Stem”and purchased a gram of “White Gorilla”. Very good quality and I’m pleased. This will be my go to spot if I’m ever in the area and want to try some awesome Oregon made flower or extracts!

Definitely one of the best dispensaries I have been in(and Ive been to a decent amount). Every time the staff has been extremely knowledgable about all the product, and super helpful when I was trying to decide what to get. I love when staff at dispensaries suggest products based off what they like or info I have told them, instead of just asking “so what do you like”. Especially with someI am new to the whole shatter/concentrates thing, but feel more confident in my knowledge now. I have bought both shatter and bud from here, both top notch.
Customer service is really big for me, and this place always has the best. A week after I was in there for the first time the woman that helpful me recognized me and asked how I liked the shatter. This is awesome to me because I can’t imagine how many people they see daily!
Very happy about quality of the product too, especially because the prices are reasonable too. They have options if you’re not looking to spend a lot of money also.

Mine and my boyfriends favorite place to get our meds. always great service, an honest, knowledgeable staff, and the rare quality of non-snobbery. the owner is very kind, the prices are fantastic, especially shatter from the low end price to super high end. Love it.
This shop had some really nice buds and the budtenders were great. I came for the cheap bubble hash, most was pretty low percentage though. With their specials I got an ounce of some mid grade trainwreck, an eighth of some top shelf blueberry kush, a gram of blue magoo, 3 grams of some fruit loop bubble hash and an edible, all for $135.
I love shopping at the stem. They have been stocking up on new products and have the best staff. Sarina is by far the best budtender in PDX. Hands down.

I’ve been to quite a few other recreational stores and dispensaries in the Portland area, and no other business has beat SS on service, quality and variety of flower, and a nice, cozy, friendly and welcoming environment. No overbearing hipsters or pretentiousness here. They treat all customers, from newbies to pros, with respect and that is incredibly important to me. I highly recommend them!

first time in, also the last. I don’t write reviews unless earned. I brought up the new 20% custy discount,or $5 off top shelf TWICE. both times she looked at me and said yea, on the 20%. I gave her the coin and she rung me with NO discount, I just look at here after I repeated again soooo.. I just payed full price?… I was the only person in the dispensary the entire time. She either didn’t like me shoes or she’s the rudest person i’v encoutered at a weed shop. With all the choices, why return to this over priced shop.
This a very convenient stop for medical/recreational users. First time med patient and had the pleasure of dealing with Chris the manager, he hooked it up with some dank Shipwreck… if you’re reading this i’m currently lost at sea!! Definitely returning again when in a pinch for some more treasure.

Please stop using humid packs in all of your jars, you ruined an ounce of medicine that was too harsh to smoke, made it taste like mildew. If you taste your other strains you will also get the same taste from your humid packs-Gross

Nice location in the Hollywood area. Pretty decent flowers. Picked up the Platinum Og and Mango Kush which were both weighed heavy and were particular nice full buds. A larger selection of other medicine might be helpful but their a newer shop so it’s expected. Mango was tasty but I’ve had better. Platinum was really good tho. In all this place is a great shop for some top shelf meds for a good price and good location.
Silver Stem uses their cozy space quite well, providing a focused and efficient atmosphere of service from multiple counters. Even though I came in the day before their rec. oil cartridge selection was replenished, I left very satisfied with my Select Strains Sonoma Coma, and am pleased with the quality of their battery; it truly packs a better punch than others I have sampled. I’ll be back.

Top to bottom best customer service I have ever had in a dispensary. Not only educational, but they were extremely busy and the budtender still gave me an excellent run down of their products while explaining why each one I was interested in would be good for me. I had the Gorilla Glue #4 and the Pineapple as well as bought a gram of hash. All three items were of outstanding quality and at a good price point. The Pineapple was certified organic and may be the cleanest cannabis I’ve had since the 1970’s. Next time I’m in Oregon, I’ll be back. I was welcomed as a first time guest with a 20% discount and will absolutely come back for their Monday 20% all-day discount. I hesitate with sales because I prefer quality over quantity but there was no compromising with Silver Stem. I walked out with a dense quarter and saved more money than I even planned.
Wow! Just wow. The last time I visited this location, I dropped a paid for gram. I figured that it was lost forever. Imagine my surprise when I went back nearly 6 week later and had that gram returned to me. Wow. At the moment, I can not find enough good things to say about this place.

First of all the staff was super welcoming and knowledgeable on the products!! They were able to hook me up with some amazing flower!! I was the first customer to purchase the ‘Pineapple’ and also the ‘Hash plant’ from Organic farms and let me tell you the smoke alone was amazing, the flower had such an amazing color and smell!!! and the high was super heady and clear,with a slight body high. Wow. Came in here as a first time patient and was blown away! They have a great spread of products for selection. I took home a little bit of everything, some flower (Golden Pineapple = A+), a concentrate from Dab Society (Platinum Animal Cookies) which is so clean and wonderful. Also grabbed a Kannatonic Arnold Palmer which was great during the 90 degree weather I was in!

Having recently turned 21, I stumbled upon it just looking at local dispensaries. Having been there three separate times now, I feel comfortable telling EVERYONE to go there.
Everything else aside, the tree is absolutely amazing. High quality, very well grown buds, especially anything from Alter Farms. Good rotating selection.
The staff though is what brings me back. From the day I came in on my birthday and how helpful they were, to recommending new strains (that have all been what I was looking for) TJ introducing me to and making sure I safely used edibles, they’re great. I’ll be hard pressed to go anywhere else!

This is the kind of shop you wish was on your corner! Clean and low key entrance in a lovely neighborhood. More selection than expected in such a small space, well organized. They keep their Leafly menu current, and have some nice discounts, I am keeping them on my short list since I found a favorite strain five other shops listed but never had in stock. Nice staff.

I was in last week for the first time, showed up 5 minutes before closing and she had the welcoming energy as if she just opened the doors for the day. Great service, top quality meds, and one place I’ll be visiting a lot more often!
I’ve been to a couple of different dispensaries at this point, and have to say, this is easily my favorite. It’s quaint, has a nice record collection, and usually has strains of “flower” that I can’t seem to find anywhere else (XXX OG being my favorite, although I was recently sold on Blueberry Kush, which has been excellent as a night time aid).
I just popped in today in order to check out the extracts which are now legal, and they definitely had their fair share. As I write this review, the watermelon gummy is doing its job nicely for my back.
Anyway, the service is always top notch, it’s not agoraphobia-inducing in its crowdedness, and the staff always seem to point me in the right direction.
I am new to the area and have been going to recreational dispensaries in my neighborhood. The employees at Silver Stem are very professional and patient with all of my questions. I am new to cannabis and received a lot of helpful information. Thank you Pat!

You will be hard pressed to find better customer service and general good vibes greater than Silver Stem. My honest assessment is that they are the #1 spot in Portland for customer experience, and I went to basically all of them.
They have good prices because they have deals all the time. If they aren’t having a deal, just laugh and go buy a lotto because both things have an one in a million chance. Even without the deals, they have affordable options.
If to critique, I would have to say the selection is where it is lacking. They get the occasional dankness for sure, but for my connoisseur friends, this is not the finery. I’ve talked to these guys, and they got roots in Colorado. They said they are working on getting their own genetics out here. That would be Godsend, because this place is an excellent little shop. I would never leave.
They are like pizza: comforting, enjoyable, inexpensive, not steak and lobster. Or quinoa, or whatever bougie vegans eat. Truffles maybe?

i come here from hillsboro. usually have a very positive experience. this time the employee argues products with me. telling me I’ve never bought what I’ve bought. im a medical patient an their is a record of my purchases. can’t believe i get treated like this. i will start taking my business elsewhere, where im appreciated. being disabled an going almost 3 hours out of my way for meds is not fun. if you want to be treated fairly here come in AM shift or before management leave.

Moved to Portland a little while ago and this is by far my favorite spot. The bud is always amazing, great prices, and an even better staff. I always recommend this spot to anyone.
I’ve only been here once but I really enjoyed it. I came in for 4/20 and they had great specials. The Gouda was AMAZING. Smelled like if jollyranchers made a blueberry flavor. The service was really personable and one on one. The selection wasn’t huge but I heard they’ll be expanding.
I was very impressed that they asked specifically what pronouns you like to be addressed by. Something not asked at any of the others I have been to (20+). It made me instantly want to review them!

Everything about my visit was great!! The bud tender explained some things about cartridges to me really well and was super down to earth and realistic about the pros and cons of different pens. I’m a medical user, so they hooked me up with multiple free goodies before I left! I’ve been smoking for years and have never been inspired to leave a review before today, which is saying something. I could also see that they have good taste in music, based on their records around the shop and the record player humming tunes. 10/10 would recommend.

I have been to probably 20 or so dispensaries around Oregon by this point, and Silver Stem definitely ranks highly for me. It is cozy and clean, with a decent flower selection. I’ll take quality over quantity any day (not that they were lacking). The budtender really seemed to enjoy his job, as he was able to show me 5 or 6 different flower types, and was able to answer my questions. I ended up getting a quarter of Apple Kush, and it was AMAZING. Prices were fair, and they have weekly deals that are worth checking out. I recommend at least stopping by and checking them out if you are looking for quality bud and you are in the neighborhood.
I usually have good reviews about you guys, But I am disappointed to say the last eighth of banana pineapple I got was really old. The test date said 6/15 on it. I really like your shop and want to give you another chance I’m just not sure now. Your employees have always been straight up about things and I am surprised no one mentioned how old that strain was.

Taylor was really supportive and nice and even let me check out Chris’ Leonard Nimoy LP he has. Chris, take really good care of that LP, now that Leonard is gone, that thing is worth a mint! Hopefully, I’ll be back with hubby so we can bring our dog, Kevin. Either way, I know I will be back. This place is always worth the trip I take from Forest Grove. Their bud is worth traveling 40 miles for. I’m NEVER disappointed in my purchases I make here.

I have stopped by silver stem twice now. The first time was random but enjoyed my visit. I have been going to a few locations around my home because it’s convenient but not the best and they have not been getting my attention. I went back to silver stem which is a good drive for myself and my husband but is almost worth it because of the quality and not so over whelming with so many flower selections but for us this place is perfect we received the best one on one service, great bud and good laughs. I highly recommend this place very very good bud and worth the drive useless your in the area head on over there.

After a brain injury I’ve become very forgetful and indecisive and get fairly nervous when rushed so the fact that the staff here are willing to wait and explain things to me is a huge plus. Small but nicely setup shop. I called three times prior to coming here to check on a product but figured they were busy. When I got there, there was no one else in the shop and they didn’t have what I came for so I left without making a purchase. I don’t live in the neighborhood and I don’t really see any reason to try going here again. OM Extracts are all over town and I didn’t go out of my way for a True North cartridge. Answering the phone would have saved me the hassle.

i moved to pdx from the east coast 2 months ago. i have visited multiple well recommended dispensary around town. silver stem had the nicest staff of anyone. they did not treat me poorly for being 1. from another state and 2. an older woman who is new to this kind of thing.i had multiple questions and two budtenders answered all of them and did not act impatient. i very enjoyed the mad scientist from TJ.

Silver Stem is located in the heart of the Hollywood district. I found that there were plenty of open spaces for parking.
Once inside the cozy green building. I was promptly greeted by Jessica. Very quickly I was processed and allowed in the magic door. Haha. Inside was very nice and seemed to be organized. Everything on the shelfs were of the finer quality. But if you asked the had plenty of 100$oz behind the shelfs.

I dont usually do reviews but I wanted to let anyone interested know about my exprience at Silver Stem. I bought a cartridge from the store and when I got home it ended up not working. When I came back in and explained my problem they exchanged it for me with no questions asked. I have shopped here a few times since and am always treated very kindly by the budtenders. Silver Stem has the best customer service by far.
Solid store. A little bit of a wait, due to set up when busy, but well worth it! This small shop is efficient and well stocked. The team here is knowledgeable and remembers regulars. They treat all who visit with respect, and usually have some truly outstanding strains! I buy primarily flower, but they have shatter, pens, edibles and what ever else folks are making! I absolutely love this dispensary. The selection is amazing and everyone is super friendly and ready to help you find the right strain for whatever you need it for. I have been back there probably 10 times in the last 3 months and I have left smiling and with amazing products every time!

I’ve been randomly coming this dispensary for a while now. They always have something dank, even when their selection is running low. All the budtenders are cool, ask for Mia!

Silver Stem is great! It is super comfy inside and there is always good music playing. I usually never have to wait long and Mia always gives me great suggestions. There are deals going on every day of the week. I just wish they had a few more strains.

Senior discount’s great! Picked up some great outdoor grown bud, which is just what I wanted (call me crazy, but I prefer plants grown in soil under the sun, rather than with a big carbon load). Solid spot.

This location, though small, is one of my favorite go-to pot shops.
The customer service is excellent. There’s always someone at the front desk, so there’s never a check-in wait. If other customers are in the back, there are chairs in the waiting room (one would think this to be kinda important in a waiting room, but some other shop owners don’t seem to know that).
But it’s the service and knowledge of the budtenders (and product quality) that puts this place over the top. The ‘tenders are extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and there’s never a sense that you’re being rushed through so the ‘tenders can crank out volume. I really like the quality of their flower, though there are lots of other products here, as well.
On my last trip I wanted a sativa or hybrid that was extremely cerebral, but with a body touch. I’d had Gorilla Glue before, but the great budtender (whose name I don’t recall, sadly) suggested I get some Purple Nurf to blend the Glue with. I’d not tried the Nurf before, but got it–and love the blend! (I’m moving away from the Glue, but that’s another story.)
Like a lot of area shops, you may have a hard time finding some of the great strains here, like Durban Poison (not that it isn’t carried here, just not very often). Fortunately, what is here is fabulous, and sold by friendly and helpful folks who know their products.

Time and time again even with all the rec business the awesome staff of Silver stem have always provided the best medicine and kindest friendliest, most highly educated staff. For such a new and small location it has a lot of positive energy just bursting from the seams! Only wish I could articulate my spoken words to them as well as I do in my review!
Pricey, but great quality flower. The curing was impeccable and the Black Beauty strain was the best purple I’ve ever had.

I just wanted to give a quick shout out to the management. Today I came in and everyone working had called in. I was greeted by both managers, one of which has helped me a half dozen times (all positive experiences), and they quickly began helping me get everything I need. They take excellent care of medical patients which is really nice to experience in the recreational market. I’m glad that sweet leaf is my neighborhood dispo, I’ll definitely be back to get more than I intend.

This was the only dispensary I’ve been going to aside from my grower. But I just got denied their Monday medical discount (as advertised), and am completely disappointed. I can’t afford regular price, so it looks like I unfortunately won’t be back

This is a very well stocked dispensary with a great discount for first time visitors. I loved the selection, and my budtender was also very helpful and friendly. a very good option, although the waiting room is a bit lacking in ambience.
When I found this shop on Leafly, I turned to my wife and said, “I think I may have just found us a ‘diamond in the rough’!”…and I was RIGHT! Hands-down the best prices in Portland, which is incredible considering the magnificent quality of their flower – seriously dank pot! This is the ONLY dispensary where I will now consider myself a regular customer!
I was a new patient who love the quality of service and product. I picked up some cannatonic flower which had a good flavor/aroma and also a great tasting high. Was also pleased with the first time trying a Kannapolis elixir and flavor was strong but the results where great especially on these hot days.
Got 20% off since I was a first time patient. They’re selection of edibles and flowers is great.
