Love this place!!!! Very knowledgable and friendly.

    Best dispensary in RI

  3. daveinri

There is no doubt that the service and atmosphere here are exceptional. Being new to medical marijuana, versus street product, I was surprised at how ‘light’ their product is. Took me awhile to realize that this is due to proper curing and that I actually get more product by weight.

I have always been very satisfied with their product, with the possible exception of their edibles that tend toward sickeningly sweet and not very potent for the donation price. I do have some issues with their suggested donations, which is generally $400/oz IF available by the ounce. They do have some $300/oz but in either case have very few products available by the ounce. One issue I have is that their menu appears to change weekly, meaning that if I find something that works particularly well for my symptoms it might not be available the next time I come in.

When I first went there I got a couple grams that came in sealed and ziplock bags. The 1/8ths were packaged in jars that lend themselves nicely to developing a collection. Unfortunately, they are not consistent with what product they put in the jars. Almost all product comes labeled with the name of the strain as well as THC/CBD percentages. Great as all that is, I have to wonder how much all that packaging adds to the cost of the product and if it might not be cheaper if they simply weighed to order.

Overall this dispensary provides a nice environment, superb service and nice variety – at a price.

    great selection.

  5. CygnusX1401

I am a relatively new MMJ patient, and TCS is one of the 2 dispensaries I was able to select. My initial impression and first visit was excellent. The facility is safe, beautiful, and easy to get to. Plenty of handicapped parking as well. Easy on/off from the highway, located across from the main Providence Post Office public parking lot on the corner.
The inside is very nice and inviting. There are a large number of aEURoebudtendersaEUR here when it’s busy, and for the most part with one exception everyone is very friendly and helpful. I’ve never seen anything behind the scenes, but everything up front is professional and you can tell that a large investment was made. There are about 8 stations and depending on the day or time there may be a few or a lot of workers.
There is an on-premises security guard. You can sign in on a tablet on the way in to earn discounts and sign up for text messages regarding specials etc. You then take a number like at the meat counter at the supermarket and wait for them to call your number reminiscent of the RI DMV without all the dread lol.
I think the pricing is currently very fair. I have heard it was more expensive in the past. I wish that the strains available would change up more frequently, and also have some aEURoenationally knownaEUR strains in the mix would be very helpful. If you are low on cash, it’s nice to know you can leave with some medicine for under $10 bucks which I think is awesome.
I wish they were able to obtain edibles from other makers out of state, like Cheba Chews, and all those wonderful candy bars available out west.
I think they have become too comfortable lately, and are not really engaging and doing a lot of social media updates. I wish they published more in YouTube and their Twitter feed. Some suggestions aEUR” have patients re-use the bags to go, which I imagine are not all that cheap. If a patient brings back their empty bag to re-cycle, offer your cost of the bag back e.g. .50 cents. I’m not a huge fan of the zip lock bags, as they tend to crush the bud. I have heard in the past that glass jars were used aEUR” probably more expensive, but if the community used re-cycling you would only need to pay the cost once and then re-use for future visits.
The edibles have been excellent so far aEUR” no complaints. This place is pretty good, but I think they can make some changes and get into the excellent category. There seem to be a lot of negative reviews, but it looks like things have simmered down since pricing changes in January aEUR” at least that is what I have noticed in these reviews.
They do not advertise anything larger than an eighth aEUR” they only sell grams and eighths. It’s nice that they accept payment methods other than cash aEUR” I have paid only cash but noticed a sign regarding that payments will be made to your credit card under a certain alias name.
There is a lot of empty space which is large and inviting, I’m hoping that the space is reserved for more products. I predict that RI will legalize recreational MJ before the end of 2017.

    Great Variety . Excellent hospitality

A lot of pros and cons with this dispensary. I feel like this dispensary is the model for others in this state, yet it doesn’t quite reach the bar with product quality or price-to-product ratio. This may be no fault of their own- I’ve heard complaints of overtaxation and etc by customers and others. But either way, this dispensary can’t compete with the street prices that many patients can find, and that others should be able to find and thus pay less.

TCC has a very professional, clean, and friendly building with a cool, comforting atmosphere. It looks like it was an old venue. It has the standard “pass your card through the door” security and is an unmarked building in a slightly-but-not-overly spooky area. It seems like most of the locals know the dispensary is there. Some secrets are sacred!

The employees are all kind, cool, and fairly but varyingly knowledgeable on their stuff. They do see a lot of people and make pretty solid recommendations, but I feel like a patient is usually going to be stuck figuring out what works best for them. Partly inevitable, partly not… and it’s a shame, because the prices can be really substantial. One 5ml oral oil syringe with a purported 990mg THC in it runs more than a lot of traffic tickets cost, and doesn’t have the “kick you on your ass” potency that you would hope when you’re paying so much. And that’s the thing- nothing really does. The buds are all beautiful, but most are in the fairly expensive high and medium tier categories. The most I’ve seen in their low price category was one strain myself, usually none, and it’s still the same or less than what you can get on the street, quality-vs-price.

So while I’d love to say TCC is the best around or my favorite, I have to say that all the RI dispensaries need a lot of work. The law may need to be reworked to make dispensaries competitive with patient, caregiver and co-op growers, and the street supply.

Still, TCC’s people are great and friendly, and their program to provide heavily discounted meds to very ill patients is indispensable.

  8. pepere

I have been a regular, great service, very knowledgable and kind,I truly recommend everyone to visit them!

  9. slatercenter

This was my first visit to their establishment or any medical dispensary every. It was a very pleasing and inviting experience. The staff was very helpful and took the time to answer all of my questions. I entered looking for information to help my situation and I left satisfied! I recommend them to any patients in RI! Keep up the good work!

  10. CannaGetTo1

I’m certain they are about the money. I spent a lot of it there, and although I’m lifted off my chair, I still decided to write a scathing review. I wish it were more scathing.

  11. cannabizma

    huge dispensary

  12. wchamp1983

I’ve become a regular here mostly out of convenience in relation to location of the other dispensaries.

The building is open and light. You feel very safe and secure. Nothing shady and security is on the premises.

Everybody I’ve come in contact with, from the person checking me in, to the administrative folks, security staff and the counter folks themselves have been kind, professional and respectful. I’ve always had my questions answered, even if it meant drawings and YouTube videos.

Product is always high quality as far as medication is concerned but I do find flower to be on the dry side more often than not.

I love that they have different items available. Sometimes flower works for migraines and oil works for spinal pain while hash might work on arthritis.

  13. me2ri401

Some of the people are very knowledgeable very friendly others not so much. prices vary from day to day hour to hour medication varies day to day hour to hour. so one day you might go and pay $50 and an hour later. somebody might come along and pay 30 bucks for the same medication. so when I go this location again I will say yes not because. I want to because there’s only two$$$$$$$ locations in my state and this one happens to be the closest one to me.

  14. RI420

Most of the staff is awesome very big inside and comfortable seats while you wait. The Quality of the bud has been terrible even with the price drops and the THC levels I feel are lies. And the past 3-4 months of having the SAME STRAINS in have been just sucky. I like to try different strains and feel the effects. Hopefully they switch up the strains and the grower cause the bud has been better elsewhere.

  15. griz

It is a beautiful facility the lady at the front desk is super nice. They have Good meds, flowers and oils! A lil pricey but tax’s are a bitch I get that!! Most of the staff is nice.
I don’t smoke that much flower anymore so my complaint is they are always running out of oil/ concentrates. Or they only have 1 left which has happened to me EVERY time I’ve been up there. It’s a 45 min drive from my house so when they put it on the menu and by the time I see it and get there it’s gone. It’s a nice place to have around if you can’t get anything from your regular caregivers.

  16. RollnSpliffs

Great medicine great variety great sales they sell cool gadgets to help roll dab or bong rip in the merchandise store!!!

  17. Silkblkcat

    good edibles

  18. pgoforit044

The Coffee Cup Kush is beyond unbelievable. It isn’t too harsh and helps with the worst joint aches.

  19. weediquette88

Recently they’ve been stepping their game up. They’ve dropped their prices, they are also doing more in-house blends, and and I’ve seen the THC % go dY’+dY1/4! Granted, not everything is a buy. It’s nice just to have them as a back up while your stuff is growing/harvesting dY~……

  20. akwilli

They have tons of grade A marijuana but they are lacking in the concentrates area. They didn’t have any wax, shatter, etc. They did have edibles and accessories like lotion and Chapstick. Nice atmosphere.

  21. bud88

I have to agree with some of the other reviews in that the prices are high for a non profit organization. I also believe that they could do away with the fancy packaging to lower prices. I find that their flowers are a bit too dry for using a pipe. overall quality of the product is good. I have not tried the other compassion centers locally so I have nothing to compare to.

  22. rasta0830

I couldn’t feel more comfortable anywhere but my home !! True meaning of compassion !! You guys are the best and so inviting and kind hearted !! Keep it up , Rasta liveth

  23. soobaked

Top notch staff…well versed on the medicine and really aim to help

  24. jspicola

    Best Around!!

  25. YeaMan

Too expensive for patients with low income.

  26. jduce7

No seeds. Selection isn’t bad the weed kinda all taste the same weed has no density if it does it’s to dry Jet Fuel, OG Smalls and Pakistan valley are the best strains I smoked out of there overall they get a C+ in my Book

  27. poztdybear

Sales personal are very helpful, knowledgeable, personable and understanding. Marijuana very high quality and accessories are moderately priced. My only means for dissatisfaction would be: 1. inconsistent availability of Marijuana Strains and 2. Marijuana highly priced. I have been purchasing my
medicine at TSC since they opened and I’ve recommended TSC to many other people.

  28. Abby_sp

    Easy to find

  29. Sami420

Here’s the deal. They aren’t consistent with their menu, you go there and something is out of stock. Also, the 1/8s are short .1. Weigh them I’m not wrong. The bud is ok, not close to west coast standards, but decent for the east. Again, weigh your jars…stop shorting us please… Ty

  30. schell92

I’ll start by saying I’ve gone here numerous times over the last 12 months and this is just my personal opinion. The Store is nice, open and numerous counter space.staff is mostly friendly.
Decent prices. But for some reason all the flower has the same weird taste. I call it the aEURoeslater taste aEURoe

  31. majorbakage

Very welcoming and outgoing staff when first walking in, The menu has a lot to offer with some very exceptional strains! Concentrates are also a must, and the pre-rolls are good for on the go as well as the rice crispy treats and brownies! The menu is always consistently changing up, so there is quite a variety to choose from on a day-to-day and week to week basis. Give them a visit if you want some exquisite smoke 🙂

  32. lilcubo335

They always give you the least medicine of all the dispensaries and charge the most and their express lane made me wait longer than someone just coming in and there is nothing express about it people went up asking questions not knowing what they wanted anyway, if this wasn’t the closest compassion center to me I probably would never go here

  33. jettagirl7

This is the best place & I do edibles only. The people are awesome, parient & eager to help. Knowledgeable. It’d be great if they had a Cafe in the corner for a safe place to go and meet new friends & old. This is my place to go!

  34. Mikaela88

The employees and atmosphere are amazing. I’ve been going here for a little less then a year and it’s always a pleasure walking in. They are also very good at helping me find what works best for me and my pain.

  35. yamahogmamma

Very expensive how can patients on SSDI afford donations like this? Got Pheonix Fusion Oil “surpose to be ” really concentrated only a “rice size” she said to take, well my patient said “I felt nothing at all” so took the recommended amount” he felt a little tired but pain is still there.. for $80 people don’t have this to waste”? is there refund policies “yeah right” another time we had to go the donation price changed for more? doesn’t seem practical for us to go here unfortunately anymore especially if no pain was relieved.

  36. bubba1111115

The tender was great-very patient and didn’t rush me out and answered questions well so that was the best. The quality is also great but the variety of flower, edibles and concentrates was definitely a big gripe, and aside from the out of stock items too, was the price. Wow, it’s very expensive!! Would go again, but now with more knowledge, but still gonna watch the prices closer next time and choose wiser!!

  37. smashley52

their edibles are really good and decent in strength

  38. inkognito

Best in the State, hands down

  39. 401jharrington

Awesome flower, everything I ever got was top shelf, nice menu, everybody there is cool. Haven’t tried the wax yet, but the hash was fire.

  40. knobrega23

you should be open later than 4 on a Saturday. people work, and open on Sundays for a few hours. your hours of operating are kind of inconvenient.

  41. Amancris

This places meds are overpriced and the worst quality i have ever seen in a professional environment. The staff (on more meds than the patients) is oblivious to the patients needs and the atmosphere fells more like high school study period rather a professional medical business. The meds themselves are not cured at all and imo overdied and rushed. The bud quality is non existent, you are lucky if you see anything bigger than a quarter.

  42. fluent401

dope place employees are very cool and medicine is very up to par only thing i suggest is that they keep the variety a little more expandable

  43. Smooky006

The bud is not fire at all I found seeds in my shit and I’m never ever going back again

  44. fantasticsam

There is nothing compassionate happening at the Thomas C. Slater Compassion Center. You can tell the place is run by amateurs after a quick buck, instead of responsible, professional adults.

Three tiers of flower, priced according. They only had eights available at the top shelf level, so the lowest priced 8th at Slater Compassion Center was $55. Most of the medicine had something wrong with it, and I’d go so far as to say you might find cleaner, better quality marijuana on your local street corner.

The selection was and is usually poor and very limited. After two years Slater doesn’t have their own reliable grow… despite having no plant limits… and that’s just shameful. ESPECIALLY when you hear the rumors about why they don’t have a grow up and running yet.

Caregivers did a great job servicing patients while the state awaiting dispensary regulations, but Slater and their lawyers were so busy trying to kill the caregiver system that they’ve created a situation where they aren’t capable of growing, but they don’t have the expertise or ability to produce medicine on their own.

The truly shameful thing is that if the people running Slater just did things the right way, they’d STILL be making loads of money like they are now. The only difference is that there would be a state full of happy patients instead of where Rhode Island stands now.

Slater is not a compassion center: It is a for-profit, locally owned and operated drug cartel, and patients of Rhode Island… or ANY state for that matter, deserve better than this.

If Rhode Island truly cared about it’s MMJ program and the patients who are part of that program, they would rescind Slater’s license to operate and give it to a group of people who treat marijuana as a medicine and people as patients.

  45. blackhippieera

Great atmosphere I enjoyed my time there and the bud was fantastic

  46. bobo305

too pricey. $18/gm is too high for a on profit.

  47. victoryrose88

love the steady supply of new interesting things. wish there was more dabs on a consistent basis but other than that I love this place. I’d hang out and smoke in there if I could. maybe they can send texts when certain products come in that people want.

  48. jvalderajr

    Nice eddibles

  49. MikeBrown603

I had a good experience at the Slater Center. Staff was helpful and professional, I didn’t feel rushed or catch a bad attitude.
Edible prices are the best I’ve found and they taste good. There’s a definite cannabis smell and taste, but it’s not overpowering.

  50. NAVY

Staff friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are high hopefully will come down soon please.Don’t need fancy package.

  51. jduce401

Not a wide variety of strains but they have some good ones need more strains

  52. TinMan1123

TCS did a great job of setting the bar ‘mgot dispensaries in the area, and a terrible job maintaining it. A once great provider of meds is now an overpriced dispensary with horrible variety, and un true thc and cbd testing. Their are MANY MANY RI Caregivers with better selection and better donation ratio for top shelf. which TCS rarely has “Top Shelf” meds. That being said DCB anything which is exclusive to TCS are incredible. and a must buy.

  53. kristenp814

Good quality. Good experience with the front staff. Good prices. They even complimentary massages! However, they’re not very helpful or informative to first timers. I went there for my first visit, and I was hoping they’d educate me seeing as I just got my card. Instead, they were too busy chit chatting among themselves. They’re not personable, I felt rushed and like I was inconveniencing them. Pretty rude staff.

  54. Notebook96

it was really nice in the building, the outside was very sketchy tho. I got hash and it was amazing.

  55. patient500

Garbage. It’s too bad that as a patient I really thought the best thing for my health and safety would be to sign up for the closest dispensary to me. DUMB. I should have researched more. THC counts are bogus, they’re incredibly overpriced, will not sell anything above an 8th (actually most of the time you can only get the actual medical quality strains in 1 gram packages!!!!!) LET ME MAKE THIS CLEAR: most of their marijuana and concentrates and edibles (everything basically) are just flat out not medical quality. They over charge you. There’s an armed guard staring at everybody like they’re potential criminals. I am a patient with a life that I am trying to improve. If I had to be put it briefly: I will be paying the $25 required to drop this dispensary as a caregiver.

The only thing positive thing about this place are the people that work there. And quite frankly, it’s a dispensary, of course the people there are gonna be happy and positive. :/ Who ever owns this place sucks.

  56. HAZERBEAM

I agree with some of the reviews stating how all the flower has the same taste which is from the citric acid treatment. Terrible! I went a few times recently and all the flower is either nowhere near properly cured or not flushed what so ever. I am concerned about this because I don’t want to smoke unflushed garbage! Black ashes. I would recommend going to green leaf in middletown. Best flower around!

  57. medicalguy62

This place is great. Everyone has been very nice and seemed informed. The interior is beautiful and it feels very welcoming. It is not too expensive. They have some strains for under $10 but most go for $12-17. For the quality it’s worth it. I haven’t really found a bad strain from them. I wish they had a bit more variety more often but other than that I always look forward to buying from them. It’s great to see a positive experience offered for those with medical issues.

  58. JayDube

Grow your own or find a caregiver. Better options this dispensary.

  59. rej1985

The people are great, helpful, and compassionate about what they do. I have been going there for a while and I have recommended it to other people.

  60. anthonyp1

Staff was friendly and knowledgeable, beautiful facility and great looking flower.

  61. manimal529

Been a regular here for a while, its right off 95 which is soooo convenient and they typically always have CBD strains which is really important to me. One of the problems Ive been having is theres just no way to go in and get a half or Oz of their top quality THC strains. Eighths only and they are over priced at 55$ donations. They are usually really great buds but sometimes its uncured. You can tell they hoard some strains in the back to spread it out over time but… whatever. I get free monthly massages here which makes me think they actually care about my well being and the actual building itself is amazing. Looks like just another abandoned building in RI then you go inside and its awesome. Bottom Line: Convenience, awesome service and hard candies; Go to Slater.

  62. indicaeyes

Excellent selection and the nicest staff you could ask for. It’s the only place I go. aoeOE Keep up the GREAT work & the growth in selection is brilliant!!!

  63. lynnecarol

Very good! I’ve been twice, once when it wasn’t terribly busy, and once when it was quite busy. Both times I was waited on pretty quickly. Very knowledgeable and helpful budtenders. Fairly high volume place, but waiting system is very effective, with more than adequate staff to handle patron volume well. Even friendly parking lot attendant helpful in finding you a place. A professional place to do business with.

  64. Cq17ave

First time there walked in they gave me a sign in sheet filed out the application… By this time they just told me to take a number, and when that number is called to walk up the counter.

When i walked up the so called budtender said whats up. I looked at the weed i dY’f it, and determined i like to strains and bought them both. one was cuve and the other was a cross with a kush..i paid and walked out.

What i thought was supposed to happen was for the greeter to sit me down.Take 5 min with me and explain mybe what weekly specials they have, or special events or the rules of the dispensary

none of that took place, the budtender did not even really look at me. I asked about the weed and really had no say about it. he also did not tell me if they did have specials or what was i looking for..

weather up high or what..w.e it sucked i can do a much better job…. The cannabis sucked cuve was horrible….the kush was ok decent… Overall i will never go to atleast this place again.
For being professionals in the cannabis industry they lack in all trates from the growing to the customer service. Dont let the decor fool you there weed lacks passion.

I do hope you make some changes..

  65. luwana

    it’s the bomb it’s awesome! !

  66. chronicpains

Donations are high, need more medicine

  67. deecilini

Nice looking place for sure. Terrible over-priced selection as well. Staff is definitely cool. Management not so much. They open at 10:30 AM which only adds to the stereotype that marijuana users can’t get out of bed. The “budtenders” look like they’re going to a rave or just got stoned rather than medical professionals. It’s hard for others to take medicinal marijuana seriouy when the pharmacists have bob marley shirts, rasta hats, and tatooed faces. My favorite is how you can’t buy a 1/4 of most stuff but you can buy 7 grams at some exorbent price. The thc counts are super shady too.

  68. FrAnKnBeAnS87

loved everything strains edibles service atmosphere and orices arent bad at all. I have also seen ounces for sale in tcs u jus have to ask

  69. scott3425

Thought it was cool. Nice place but their Jupiter 9 refills always break and leak, and they know this and don’t warranty them, you loose out 65 bucks each refill.
I bought 2 refills can’t smoke 2 at a time and im not addicted so it takes 2-3 weeks to smoke through one cartridge, and after using the first..,,the second one broke and leaked and never got to draw once on it..leaked everywhere.
Their answer was a half refund. That was not acceptable to me and I will no longer go there.
Terrible experience from everyone from the non caring front desk right through to asking for a manager and getting a response of you don’t need to shop here.
Your right I don’t and I’ll chalk this up to experience and let everyone know about your inferior products and drastically immature and disrespectful front desk I will not shop there.
Terrible experience all around..go to summit its worth a longer drive

  70. phalanga

Products are good . Edibles can be good , needs high Cbd flowers . Donation prices are high

  71. Mmp024

    It’s okay.

  72. Wavegem

Where is your grow? Last harvest was in September. Millions for a mediocre model and piles of deleted criticism. If I was investor I would be livid. Way to go Rhode Island you have a nice car with no engine

  73. amd11788

    Awesome!

  74. greenshrub

I’ve only visited once so far, but I was very impressed by the whole experience. Kind staff, you can see their grow through a window to the right of the registers, and lots of black in the store makes it look kind of like a bar at a good concert venue. Flower selection was excellent, but I’m happiest about the fact that they carry seeds–they’re the only center in the state that does–but they’ve had the same few strains for quite a while, and I’d like to see some offerings from DNA Genetics in the near future, especially Tangie and Sour Diesel.

  75. thatassholenick

over priced poor quality and not enough selection

  76. cliffmazer

no selections, donations are very high. can’t get hemp oil (Rick Simpson oil). They have replaced compassion with profit.

  77. hzrdus

Great, friendly, and smart staff, dank buds – best dispensary I’ve been to

  78. crusherman54

Very friendly staff.Great selection. I think they should sell larger quantities at lower prices. Un-affordable for many patients.
